At only 17-years-old, Swedish activist Greta Thunberg has started a worldwide movement among young people to protest inaction around the climate crisis. “You are never too small to make a difference.” Greta, who has Asperger syndrome, has cared deeply about the environment since she was 8 years old. She implemented many lifestyle choices to reduce her own carbon footprint, including becoming vegan and choosing not to travel via plane. When she was only 15 she began skipping school to protest at the Swedish parliament and soon was organizing other students to protest for more action by the people in power. She’s delivered passionate speeches to plead for action to important groups like the United Nations. She found her voice as a climate activist and realized that being different is actually her “superpower.” Greta inspires us to think about our own impact on our planet every day!
